On April 4, 2016 FCAB organized a seminar with Bangladesh’s National Institute of Cancer Research Hospital featuring Prof. Mousumi Banerjee of the University of Michigan School of Public Health to begin teaching cancer researchers and oncologists the fundamentals of starting a cancer registry. The first session featured fundamentals of research design and analyses (estimation and hypothesis testing framework, bias, precision, power of a study, case/control, cohort studies), epidemiologic measures of disease and association (prevalence, incidence, attributable risk, relative risk, odds ratio, etc.). The second session covered regression framework for binary and survival data (logistic regression, proportional hazards modeling and poisson regression) with examples in SAS.
