Prior to the Rotary Global Grant Award in July 2015 and the start of full operations of the FCAB Primary and Maternal Health Clinic in August, there were 3 medical camps and 1 specialized eye camp. These combined saw over 1500 patients from Bagdumur and its vicinity. The various medical camps alone saw a total of 525 patients. The first medical camp was on January 16, 2015 during Rtn Ashish Sarkar’s (President of the Rotary Club of Ann Arbor) visit where 160 patients were seen. The second camp was on February 13, 2015 where 165 patients were seen. The third camp was on March 20, 2015 where 200 patients were seen. Right after the Global Grant was awarded at the end of June, on July 13, 2015 more than 50 patients received treatment and medicine free of cost. Clinic staff went door to door of around 50 households irrespective of religion and socio- economic background listened to them and informed them about the healthcare facilities to be provided through the FCAB Clinic. Dr. Himika Khan Rupa, Medical Officer, North Bengali Medical College and Hospital provided health services to the patients from 9.00 am to 1.30 pm. A total of 57 patients (Male-12 and Female-45) received treatment and consultation along with medicine free of cost. Among the patients, 3 were pregnant and 4 were lactating mothers.
