FCAB Hosts Dr. Banerjee at the Bangladesh National Museum
In December 2015, FCAB invited Dr. Mousumi Banerjee, a renowned Professor of Biostatistics at the University of Michigan (UM) School of Public Health and the Cancer Center at UM, to Bangladesh to explore potential ways to collaborate on cancer and other public health research in the village of Bagdumur in Sirajganj. During her visit she spoke about cancer awareness, met with the Director General of the Bangladesh National Cancer Research Institute and other local cancer specialists. As Dr. Banerjee is also an accomplished Rabindranath Tagore singer and has initiated a very important cultural heritage project, “Tagore beyond Boundaries” which is notating Tagore’s music to make them accessible to more audiences, FCAB arranged for her to share her talents with Bangladesh through a performance on Bangladesh National Television (BTV) and at the Bangladesh National Museum.
